he hotel stands on the site of three houses built in the early 17th century, following the creation of Rue de Guise (formerly Rue du Cardinal de Guise) on the Abbey gardens.
The building was reconstructed in 1762 by order of the Marquis de Jouffroy and his wife, the Countess of Bressey. The Countess was a notable figure in local history, known as one of King Stanislas's favorites. The wrought-iron staircase, inspired by the work of Jean Lamour, dates back to this period.
After serving as a private mansion (Hôtel particulier) for centuries, it became a commercial hotel in the 1950s, originally offering monthly room rentals. In 2008, the Kolb family acquired the Hôtel de Guise and has since carried out several phases of renovation.
The hotel is situated in the heart of Nancy’s old town, on a very quiet street running perpendicular to the Grande Rue.
It is close to the Porte de la Craffe, the Palace of the Dukes of Lorraine and the Basilica of Saint-Epvre.
Place Stanislas is a 10-minute walk away via the pedestrian route.
